Formation. (May - Jun 41)

No information found in the primary documents seen as to exact date and place of formation., but a postwar published history claims it was established in June 1941 using elements of flight school FFS (A/B) 10. [1]


Central Russia and South Russia. (Jun 41 - c. Feb 43).

Jun 41: assigned to Koluft/AOK 2.

16 Jul 41: Go 145 (W.Nr. 269) crash landed at Fp. Minsk-East, 15%.[2]

18 Jul 41: Fi 156 (W.Nr. 5697, BH+WM) failed to return, crew of 2 MIA. [3]

18 Jul 41: Go 145 (SA+X) reported missing in the Orsha area, 100%, 2 MIA.

31 Aug 41: Fw 58 crashed taking off from Fp. Borisov, 85%.

22 Sep 41: still assigned to Koluft/AOK 2.[4]

29 Sep 41: Go 145 crash landed near Klintsy/86 km NE of Gomel, 60%, 1 injured.

Nov 41 – May 42: transferred to Germany and disbanded, with assets returned to the schools. Re-established c. 25 April 1942 at Warnemünde using aircraft and personnel from FFS A/B 10 for assignment in South Russia.[5]

18 Jul 42: Fi 156 reported missing - no details, 100%, 2 MIA.

3 Aug 42: Fi 156 shot down by a fighter near Dimitriyevskaya (probably in the Rostov area), 100%, crew safe.

6 Sep 42: Fi 156 bombed on the ground at Fp. Maikop in N Caucasia, 100%.

Nov 42: transferred to Nikolayev/SW Ukraine for reorganization as a night harassment squadron with the designation 1./Störkampfgruppe Luftflottenkdo. 4. [7]

Feb – Mar 43: before it could be employed in its new role, it was disbanded following the German disaster at Stalingrad. [8]
