Formation. (May - Jun 41)

No information found in the primary documents examined as to exact date and place of formation, but a published history states it was established in April 1941 at Paris-Villacoublay airfield in France for employment in South Russia. [1]


South Russia. (Jun 41 - c. Feb 43)

Jun 41: assigned to IV. Fliegerkorps.[2]

24 Jun 41: Bf 109 damaged taxiing at Fp. Iaşi/NE Romania, 40%.[3]

4 Jul 41: Fw 58 damaged taxiing at Fp. Rîmnicu Sarat/31 km NNE of Buzău in C Romania, 30%.

25 Jul 41: Fw 58 damaged taxiing at Fp. Balti (Beltsy)/Moldavia, 25%.

Aug 41: based at Fp. Balta/165 km NNW of Odessa.

14 Aug 41: Fi 156 damaged taxiing at Fp. Balta, 15%.

29 Aug 41: Fi 156 (W.Nr. 4217) crash landed at Kiev, 20%. [4]

1 Sep 41: Bf 108 (W.Nr. 1630) crash landed at Fp. Balta-North, 25%.

Sep 41: Staffel transferred from Balta to Fp. Nikolayev-East.

28 Sep 41: man belonging to the Staffel reported WIA by enemy fire near Odessa.

4 Oct 41: Bf 110E damaged taxiing at Fp. Nikolayev/S Ukraine, 15%.

8 Oct 41: Fw 58 bombed on the ground at Fp. Nikolayev, 10%.

10 Oct 41: 3 aircraft (Bf 110, Ar 66 and a Kl 35) all damaged during Russian air attack on Fp. Nikolayev, all 15%.

Nov 41 – May 42: transferred from Fp. Nikolayev to Germany and disbanded, with assets returned to the schools. Re-established c. April (June?) 1942 for assignment in South Russia.[5]

1942: no information.

Feb – Mar 43: disbanded.[6]
