No information found in the primary documents examined as to exact date and place of formation, but a published history states it was ordered established in January 1942, possibly at Lvov/SE Poland.[1]
South Russia. (Jun 42 - c. Feb 43)
Jun 42: probably assigned to either AOK 2 or Pz.AOK 4.
10 Nov 42: based at Kursk-West with a personnel strength of 3 officers and 55 men.[2]
Feb – Mar 43: disbanded following the disaster at Stalingrad and the Russian drive westward from the Don to Kursk. It’s Feldpost number was deleted but it’s remaining assets may have been taken over by Flugbereitschaft/Luftwaffenkommando Don on 20 Nov 42. [3]
19 Mar 43: this may be the Staffel’s termination date according to circumstantial evidence. [4]
