Jul 1940 – Stab./122 and 2(F)./122 relocated to Brussels-Evere.(stayed until May 1941)[1] Also 4(F)./122 moved to Brussels-Melsbroek at this time[1] and 5(F)./122 started operations from Hautefontaine (NE France).[1]

23 Jul 1940 – Daily weather reconnaissance flown to the English East Coast. Also at least one aircraft of 4(F)./122 took part on operations around the convoy “Pilot” off the Lincolnshire coast.[7]
5(F)./122 flew a Channel recce sortie covering the area from Calais to the Isle of Wight.[8]
3.(F)/122 reported its establishment as: 8 He 111H-2 8 He 111H-3 2 Ju 88s. A further Ju88 would probably arrive at Stade shortly. With this strength, the Staffel could give up three He 111s and would place them at the disposal of 9. Fl.Div.[9]

29 Jul 1940 – A Do 17Z of 5(F)./122 (F6+QN) flew a Channel recce sortie covering the area from Calais to the Isle of Wight.[13]

30 Jul 1940 – 2(F)./122 Ju 88 F6+BK on sortie to the east coast of England in search of shipping, crashed into the sea, having suffered a sudden engine failure while flying in cloud at approximately 500ft, in the vicinity of some shipping. The crew took to their life raft, the aircraft sank within a few minutes and the crew spent the next 103 hours in the dinghy not being rescued until 1600hrs on August 3rd. [15]

31 Jul 1940 - 2.(F)/122 was at Brussels-Melbrueck, except Fw Lange who was held at Münster-Loddenheide by bad weather.[17]
