Aufkl. Gr. 122 Jun 1941
Jun 1941 - The Luftwaffe Order of Battle recorded the following:-
1(F)./122 under the control of Fleigerkorps X in the Mediterranean with a mixed stock of Ju 88 and Bf 110 aircraft – 10 on strength of which 9 were servicable.
2(F)./122 under Luftflotte 4 with a mixed stock of Ju 88 and Bf 110 aircraft – 12 on strength of which 8 were servicable.
3(F)./122 under Luftflotte 2 with a mixed stock of Ju 88 and Bf 110 aircraft – 11 on strength of which 6 were servicable.
4(F)./122 also under Luftflotte 4 with a mixed stock of Ju 88 and Bf 110 aircraft – 9 on strength of which 5 were servicable. (transferred from Brussels-Evere to Rzeszow (Reichshof)/S Poland and reassigned to Luftflotte 4 in early June.[1])
5(F)./122 under Luftflotte 1 with 9 Ju 88 on strength of which 8 were servicable.

On 18 June 41 this Ju 88 with crew Lt Behrens, Ofw Volk, Fw Schmidt and Uffz Lentfert was on a "Tarnüberwachung" near Rotterdam. The plane was attacked by a Me 109 and crash landed in Haringvliet near Hellevoetsluis/Rockanje (Holland). Entire crew bailed out and were all safe.
22 Jun 1941 – Stab./122 was located at Warschau (Warsaw) under Luftflotte 2 for the attack on the Soviet Union on this date.
1(F)./122 was in transit to Warschau (Warsaw) with 7 Ju 88As/Ds and 3 Bf 110s for assignment to II.Fliegerkorps/Luftflotte 2 for the attack on the Soviet Union.[4]
Located at Warschau (Warsaw) with 8 Ju 88As, 3 Bf 110s and 2 Bf 109Es under Stab/Aufkl.Gr.122 for the attack on the Soviet Union on this date.[5]
4(F)./122 located at Rzeszow with 8 Ju 88s and 3 Bf 110s directly under Luftflotte 4[6]
5(F)./122 now located at Jürgenfelde (East Prussia) with 9 Ju 88As and 3 Bf 110s under I.Fliegerkorps/Luftflotte 1 for the attack on the Soviet Union. The Staffel remained at Jürgenfelde until the end of July, although operational sorties were frequently staged through more forward airfields, such as Kedainiai in Central Lithuania.[7]
