Formation. (Apr 44)

Formed o/a 14 April 1944 at Kirkenes/North Norway (ex-Stab/Fliegerführer Eismeer). Directed air operations along the polar front in North Finland between Kirkenes and Murmansk.[1]


North Finland and North Norway. (Apr 44 - Dec 44)

3 Jul 44: Stab at Kirkenes subordinated to Kommandierender General der deutschen Luftwaffe in Finnland.[2]

13 Oct 44: Stab still at Kirkenes, but preparing to withdraw west in accordance with the German evacuation of North Finland and the eastern part of North Norway.[3]

5 Nov 44: Stab transferred from Banak to Alta.[4]

12 Nov 44: Stab at Alta/N Norway under Komm.Gen.d.dt.Lw. in Finnland.[5]

25 Dec 44: Stab now at Bardufoss/N Norway and now under Kommandierender General der deutschen Luftwaffe in Norwegen.[6]

End of Dec 44: Stab disbanded after turning over its responsibilities to 5. Fliegerdivision, which had just been formed.[7]
