Gefechtsverband Kleyenstüber
Believed to be the forerunner of Fliegerführer Sardinien, which was formed on 9 December 1942. Major (i.G.) Arno Kleyenstüber was a general staff officer with Stab/II. Fliegerkorps on Sicily at the time and the Gefechtsverband may have been the mixed bomber force being used to pound the Algerian ports and attack convoy shipping along the North African coast during November and the first week of December 1942. The bomber force operated under II. Fliegerkorps.[1]
