Formation and History. (Sep 43 - Feb 45)

Formed 15 September 1943 at Cosel in Upper Silesia to control fighter defenses over Silesia, Slovakia and adjacent areas under 1. Jagddivision. Plans called for the Stab to be reorganized as Stab/9. Jagddivision, but these were never carried out. Remained at Cosel, but from summer 1944 came directly under I. Jagdkorps. Now under Luftflotte 6, transferred from Cosel to Prague-Ruzyne at the end of January 1945 as Soviet forces drove into Silesia and after arriving the Stab was ordered disbanded by OKL on 3 February.[1]
