Unit Code 5Z - Staffel Letter A

Dec 1940 - Raised at Wein-Aspern.

Aircraft types operated: Do 17, Do 24, Fw 58, He 111, Ju 52, Ju 88, Kl 35 and W.34.

20 May 1941 - Wellingtons from 257 Wing attacked various airfields on the Greek mainland damaging a Ju 88 of this unit at Eleusis.

From 1941 to Aug 1944 operated in Russia providing weather recce for Luftflotte 4.

Oct 1942 - The Staffel was split into Wekusta 76 and 76/1 with Wekusta 76 continuing to operate over the Black Sea.
